Book Review: The Human Body by Answers in Genesis

“The Human Body” is one of those favorite humbling books that gives cause for rejoicing in God’s perfect design of the human body. It is incomprehensible how foolish people can be to believe the lie that man was formed over millions of years by chance, random selection and death. The body has an incredible design, especially in its birth. Continue reading

Book Review: Apemen: Separating fact from fiction by Answers in Genesis

“Apemen” is a concise Biblical answer to the erroneous evolutionary view of millions of years for man to evolve from apes. The answers given in each chapter address separate questions posed because of the desire people have to understand their origin while suppressing the truth of their origin in God.

Book Review: The Gift of Rest by Joe Lieberman

“The Gift of Rest” was an enjoyable read on Senator Lieberman’s devotion to Shabbat (Sabbath). Growing up Jewish, the Senator has continued to pursue his devotion to God by honoring the Jewish tradition of Sabbath. This book is an easy-flowing read explaining his appreciation and explanation of God’s gift of Sabbath and how it draws the devotee into communion with God and others. That one day of Sabbath rest regenerates him for the next six days of labor. Lieberman is mindful and respectful of other people as they might consider God’s principle of one day rest (worship), whether on Saturday or Sunday. Continue reading

Book Review: “Global Warming” by Answers in Genesis

“Global Warming” is an objective analysis of the hype portrayed by many scientists, politicians and the media. It is objective, because it looks at the facts and takes out the scare tactics. It removes the personal agendas that some use to gain greater control over people and unknowingly, destroy small businesses. Continue reading

Book Review: The Lie: Evolution/Millions of Years by Ken Ham

“The Lie: Evolution/Millions of Years” by Ken Ham is a must read reality check.  Having read the first edition fifteen years ago, the 25th Anniversary Edition was a tremendous refocus on the essence of the battle raging in America. Most of the issues Christians seem to fight are merely symptoms of the real issue, which is the bombardment and destruction of the foundation of Christianity –God’s Word. Continue reading

Book Review: Stop Walking on Eggshells by Paul T. Mason and Randi Kreger

Stop Walking on Eggshells is a practical book that describes the complexity of what psychologists define as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD or BP). I actually like the book for the sake of the descriptions and examples of conversations and expectations, however, I would not recommend this book to anyone unless they had a strong biblical counseling background. The reason to read it is to understand the demanding, unstable and volatile, emotional way a BP person lives. A BP person demands his intimate ways and reacts in harmful ways to anyone who does not support and go along with him. The term BP comes from psychological theories that such people had a mental illness, which borders between neurosis and psychosis. There is no way to understand God’s view from this book.  It is a man-centered approach to a life-dominating sin pattern that is never called sin. Continue reading

Book Review: How Could a Loving God…? By Ken Ham

“How could a loving God…?” by Ken Ham is a heart wrenching account of how his brother died from ‘frontal lobe dementia” and incurable brain disease. Ken does an incredible job of journaling his brother Rob’s tremendous ministry of preaching God’s Word and then describing how everything changed when he was transformed to an empty hulk of a decaying brain and body. Continue reading

Book Review: The Shack by William Young

“The Shack” by William Young became a Christian sensation and allegedly helped many people find a renewed commitment to God. Several have said that it explained for them aspects of God that they had not thought of before. I’m thankful that many have drawn closer to God (although I’m not excited about the means by which it happened). Continue reading
