Trust is built on the truth. Even criminals trust those who will be truthful with them. They may trust others who are trying to subvert the truth, or the law, but they trust others who want the same thing they want, even if it undermines the real Truth.

Why disciple others to follow Jesus, instead of Truth principles?

Alertness. We looked at alertness to Truth last Sunday, because mainline Christianity is falling away from it! I am concerned about Christians being pulled into the Christian Science, Mormon, and Jehovah Witness cults (among others), because those are obviously false doctrines. But for those in Protestantism who are compromising Truth, the drift is often more subtle. Do you know of churches that have moved away from Truth? How about denominations? What about Christians who professed Jesus and pursued following His Lordship, but allowed some intense suffering, mistreatment from leadership at church, or an unfair situation to cause them to depart from Jesus? Why did it happen? Because our minds and flesh like to explore new things and deceiving spirits like to fill up that desire. My friends, purity of Truth is essential, because what percentage of poison is in d-CON? Only 2 %. But unless we love each other, we’ll never be able to lead each other to the Truth.

Alertness. Alertness is one of the most important concepts of your life. When I was going through my flight training, my reflexes and coordination were not alert to what winds could do to that TH55 (training helicopter). We called it the “eggbeater,” because it beat us up. After I soloed, I was often by myself, which meant I no longer had an IP (instructor pilot) there to take hold of the controls. I had to be alert.
Phil Robertson always speaks his mind in a clear and concise way. He even does a good job of quoting Scripture where he can. He often is a great spokesman for the cause of Christ.
And in his interview comments recently with GQ, he made a statement regarding the illogical nature of the homosexual manner of living. He said that the homosexual lifestyle went against the Law of Nature. Continue reading
