This is Part 1 of 2 parts addressing the foolish behavior of shyness. Part 2 will be posted tomorrow.

Children must be taught the holiness of God. They are not born with it. I was not and you were not either. We all have to learn how to behave before the holiness of God. Yet people often want to make excuses for not raising their children to the holiness of God. One example is when their children are “shy.” Shyness is not something “cute.”  It is a childish behavior that should be patiently, lovingly and deliberately trained out of the child. Insights: Order or Extra Work!

For the last two weeks, I’ve been working to finish off our basement. The process meant moving items that were left behind by the previous owners. Yes, moving them from one location to another, so I could build walls and put them in place. I finally got some help and moved most of it out to the pole barn. There are still some pieces that “might” be used, but they should be moved out also. Every time I move them means time and energy expended that could be used for doing the finishing work! The principle is “be ordered or do extra work.” It’s a simple principle about the Lord. Continue reading →

Insights: Two are better than one!

I was at the point of needing an extra person to assemble the walls together in my lower level.  My son-in-law helped me put in the first two walls and shoot nails into the concrete to secure the walls to the floor.  However, it was nap time and the fun of shooting nails into the concrete gave in to the need of granddaughters to get needed rest. Inisghts: Sometimes you need a big hammer!

This morning I rented a Makita variable speed jack hammer. I used it last week to open up the area around the plumbing into the concrete basement floor. This time I needed to move a pipe 7″ so I could put it into a wall I’m building and then move the shower drain (actually, I have a plumber who is coming out to move them, but I broke up the floor to get it ready. It was four hours of sheer exhilaration and fun! Breaking through four inches of concrete is not a hammer and chisel option. You need something built for the task, hence the jack hammer. Insights: Growing Before the Lord

I am in the process of finishing our lower level so that it will become a warm home through these cold winter months coming. I’ve done the general contracting before and electrical work on two homes, but not the work myself.  I have a plumber coming, because of a lack of confidence, but right now I’m enjoying the joy of doing the framing work.

There are several interesting obstacles to work around like 8″x12″ beams across the whole house and six windows to frame around, including five that go above the projected drop ceiling. Continue reading →

Insights: The Conservative Mandate

What a joy to participate in the electoral process and see that the American people have not succumbed completely to the politically correct agenda. What a joy to know that enough people expressed their displeasure in the current trends of immorality at every level of government and the judicial process. What a joy to see people calling for the work to begin to restore America.

How foolish of many in the liberal side of life doing a two-step dance trying to evade their ineptness and being out of sync with the majority of the public. Continue reading →
