Insights: Order or Extra Work!

For the last two weeks, I’ve been working to finish off our basement. The process meant moving items that were left behind by the previous owners. Yes, moving them from one location to another, so I could build walls and put them in place. I finally got some help and moved most of it out to the pole barn. There are still some pieces that “might” be used, but they should be moved out also. Every time I move them means time and energy expended that could be used for doing the finishing work! The principle is “be ordered or do extra work.” It’s a simple principle about the Lord. Continue reading

MSG: Train Your Replacements: How to Disciple Worship: 1 Timothy 2:13-15

Some members of a certain church denomination were discussing whether or not the church should ordain women as pastors. During this discussion, a man jumped to his feet and said, “We should ordain women as pastors because they are just as bright as men.” A few people said, “Here, here.” Another commented, “We have women doctors and women lawyers, so why should we not also have women pastors?” A few more said, “Here, here.” Another yelled, “Women are equal to men and therefore they should be pastors.”  Continue reading
