Book Review: A Young Earth: Evidence that supports the Biblical perspective by Answers in Genesis

“A Young Earth” is described as a pocket guide to evidence that supports the Biblical perspective. It is a 96 page, small print booklet packed with great information about the reality that the earth is “young,” as in around 6000 years, rather than the “old earth” view of Evolution, which says the earth is about 4.5 billion years. Book Review: The New Answers Book 1 – Ken Ham General Editor

“The New Answers Book: 1” is an outstanding compilation of excellent questions related to the Evolution/ Creation discussion. The book contains 27 articles written by 12 expert authors that wisely defend the Biblical view of how the world began, and the Bible as the accurate account of that beginning. This volume provides a wealth of knowledge needed in every home library for answering questions which are on the minds of our “Greek” world (a world which lacks understanding of the framework of God, sin and death, in contrast to the Jewish world). Book Review: Creation – Facts of Life by Gary Parker

“Creation – Facts of Life” by Gary Parker is an excellent testimony of how a man like Gary Parker, former evolutionist, tried for three years to prove evolution to creationist professors, but saw the light and now uses the facts to teach the Truth. Parker is an amazing source of wisdom as God has taken a man who was well-trained in evolution and now is able to defend the Truth of Scripture.  His Biology and Geology degrees make him an expert in proving Evolution wrong! Book Review: Stop Walking on Eggshells by Paul T. Mason and Randi Kreger

Stop Walking on Eggshells is a practical book that describes the complexity of what psychologists define as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD or BP). I actually like the book for the sake of the descriptions and examples of conversations and expectations, however, I would not recommend this book to anyone unless they had a strong biblical counseling background. The reason to read it is to understand the demanding, unstable and volatile, emotional way a BP person lives. A BP person demands his intimate ways and reacts in harmful ways to anyone who does not support and go along with him. The term BP comes from psychological theories that such people had a mental illness, which borders between neurosis and psychosis. There is no way to understand God’s view from this book.  It is a man-centered approach to a life-dominating sin pattern that is never called sin. Continue reading

Book Review: Begin by Ken Ham and Bodie Hodge

“Begin” by Ken Ham and Bodie Hodge from Answers in Genesis is a great beginner book for new Christians and those who may question the veracity of the creation account.  Ken Ham and his son-in-law Bodie Hodge have teamed up to organize a simple, yet powerful book to  settle the hearts of new believers and anyone who may question the Genesis account of creation. Continue reading

Book Review: How Could a Loving God…? By Ken Ham

“How could a loving God…?” by Ken Ham is a heart wrenching account of how his brother died from ‘frontal lobe dementia” and incurable brain disease. Ken does an incredible job of journaling his brother Rob’s tremendous ministry of preaching God’s Word and then describing how everything changed when he was transformed to an empty hulk of a decaying brain and body. Book Review: Counseling the Sexual Addict, A Biblical Guide Steve Gallagher

A Biblical Guide to Counseling the Sexual Addict is an excellent read for pastors, counselors and those who love God and love people. Pornography is destroying America because it treats women as objects, because it hinders intimacy in marriage, because it makes men passive cats and because it takes away God’s role of men in the world – to mirror who He is. Gallagher also authored the excellent book “At the Altar of Sexual Idolatry.” Continue reading

Book Review: Koran translated by Abdulla Yusuf Ali

The Koran is the religious book for the Muslims. It was recorded as written by Muhammed around 600 A.D.  It is difficult to read, because of the repetitious statements throughout the Koran and and differences compared to what is recorded in the Bible.  The Koran is written to explain that one God, Allah, is the only God, whom all must obey.
