About shepherdbryan

My passion is to disciple and see men discipled in every area of their life to see the multiplication principle actually work in a 100 year generational blessing. As go men in the church, so goes the church. As go men in the nation, so goes the nation. Fortunately, because men have often not taken their spiritual role to the limit, God has raised up many godly women to carry the torch where men have laid it aside. May God rapidly raise up men for the next generation of leaders to the Fourth Generation of spiritual leaders! As men lead in a godly way, women will follow in a godly way and that people will be blessed of the Lord.

MSG: Fear Him not; Fear Him: Malachi 3:13 – 4:3

God has blessed America like no other nation has been blessed.  We were founded by the light of truth. Our founding fathers loved God’s Word and established a constitution that reflected integrity, checks and balances and vision for a people who wanted freedom from tyranny and opportunity to see their dreams become a reality.

Israel was also founded on truth.  God established Israel through the Abrahamic Covenant and Israel continued to grow in might and influence, until Solomon’s dedication of the temple. Continue reading

Life Insights: The Most Thirst Quenching Beverage

There are hundreds are different types of beverages.  The available products of Coke and Pepsi alone make my head spin.  Then add in all the other major producers and the add-on producers like Meijer’s brands and you have an incredible number of products.  Are we “for real?” What would happen if people did not have their choices? Continue reading

Small Group Leadership: Food at the Gathering

Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Matt. 4:4 NKJ)  Jesus was not saying bread was not necessary for living, but that the Word of God is even more important in order to have a thriving relationship with the Father.  Continue reading

Look at me! part 2

Look at me! Part 2

When children grow up, they want attention. “Look at me!” they shout.  There is something within us that we want to prove we are worthy or worth noticing.  We do that by what we wear, what we drive, how we talk and how we look.  It becomes much more subtle the older we get, but there is still something within us that wants others to notice us.  I realize there are introverted quiet types who do not want that attention.  They get the attention in other ways.  There are others, of course, who are growing in Jesus and understand what it means to be complete in Jesus.1 Continue reading

Question: Will I sin as a new believer?

Will I sin as a new believer?
John the Baptist declared Jesus Christ as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 NKJ) If Jesus came to take away the sin of the world, then will I sin as a new believer?  Some believe that you will sin, but if you sin too many times, you really weren’t saved in the first place.  Or, if you sin consistently, then you really weren’t saved.  Continue reading

Question: What is my relationship to God?

When a person trusts in Jesus Christ as his Savior, he becomes a child of God. John wrote, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12 NKJ) What does that mean “become children of God”? Whether you are five or ninety-five, when you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, you become a spiritual child of God. Continue reading

Book Review: Messianic Books: Hebrews Commentary by Arnold Fruchtenbaum

The book of Hebrews Commentary by Arnold Fruchtenbaum is the best explanation I have read and studied of this Jewish epistle written to Jews living near Jerusalem. In lucid details, Dr. Fruchtenbaum handles the theme and outline with the text rather than trying to fit the text into a theology.  Continue reading

MSG: Seeds that Die for God’s Life

John 12:23-26
There are hundreds of varieties of seeds. Pumpkin seeds, orange seeds, watermelon seeds, maple seeds, cucumber seeds, mustard seeds and of course those seeds Johnny Appleseed used to spread apple trees? Yes, apple seeds.
Seeds are great, because you can do all sorts of craft things with seeds.  You can cover objects with seeds and you can make pictures of seeds. I had an aunt who made several pictures using all kinds of seeds.  They were very clever and unique. Here are a couple pictures of pictures made from seeds. The seeds can look nice for a long time, but that’s not what the seeds were for. Continue reading

Book Review: A Failure of Civility by Mike Garand and Jack Lawson

America has seen its share of problems.  Whether Watts in 1965 or the Rodney King fiasco back in 1991, there have been triggers that caused localized riotous conditions. Other catastrophic events like Hurricane Katrina, established precedence in which localized disasters produced national challenges.  Would similar events cause greater widespread problems to need a Neighborhood Protection Plan (NPP)?  Garand and Lawson think so. Continue reading
