About shepherdbryan

My passion is to disciple and see men discipled in every area of their life to see the multiplication principle actually work in a 100 year generational blessing. As go men in the church, so goes the church. As go men in the nation, so goes the nation. Fortunately, because men have often not taken their spiritual role to the limit, God has raised up many godly women to carry the torch where men have laid it aside. May God rapidly raise up men for the next generation of leaders to the Fourth Generation of spiritual leaders! As men lead in a godly way, women will follow in a godly way and that people will be blessed of the Lord.

Suffering: Transition to Part Four of the Larger Question, “Why does a loving God allow suffering?”

This is a transition article moving from the third major section asking the question, ‘Why does a loving God allow suffering?” to Part Four. Part Four deals with the victory a Christian can have in and through suffering.

To this point, we have acknowledged that “We live in a world of suffering.” This was Part One. It demonstrated the tremendous and horrific suffering both locally and abroad. We looked at the kinds of suffering, how often innocent people are involved, the fact that some suffer more than others and if this is an injustice that God allowed some to suffer more than others. Book Review: Putting Your Past in It’s Place by Stephen Viars

“Putting Your Past in It’s Place” is a great tool for understanding how to deal with your past or for use as a tool to help another person who is struggling with his/her past.  Everyone carries a certain amount of baggage; it just depends on how people use it for God’s glory or their own foolishness. God always works our situations together for good, if we will trust Him and realize that His will is perfect and He never wastes opportunities to conform us into His image. Continue reading

MSG: Choosing God’s Will – Part 1 – Ephesians 1:11

This is the first of a series on understanding and choosing God’s will.

Right now, all of us have decisions to make. They might be about school, work, your home or even what to do this afternoon. I believe you are here because you want to do God’s will. You even believe, “Not my will, but Your will be done.”

Okay, we often don’t check in with the Lord for His will on some things, like, I’ll bet my wife didn’t check in with the Lord about whether she was going to get the French Silk or the  Key lime pie or when I was trying to decide if we’d watch the next Band of Brothers DVD or the movie Robert Griggs recommended, “The Mark.”

The question is what is God’s will and will I do it? Continue reading

Insights: Mourning Check

Most people do not want to go where there is sadness. Most want to go where there is a circus, big sporting event, or some other show where there are lights, sound and action! It’s part of the flesh that most like the stimulation of excitement. When I was a boy, I enjoyed the “Wide World of Sports.” The “thrill of victory” was far more enjoyable than the “agony of defeat”!  That’s natural! Continue reading

MSG: Training Your Replacements: Know the Important Point – 1 Timothy 6:17-21

This concludes the series on 1 Timothy.

Bruce Larson tells the story of a man and wife and their two children who were biking in Florida. The parents taught their children the importance of bicycle safety, especially safety helmets and riding with traffic. They were biking along one beautiful weekend and saw a sign, “Naturalist Camp.” Without thinking, the dad thought, “I like nature. We should check this out for future camping sights.” Within five minutes of riding into the Naturalist’s Camp, five bare naked people were riding in the opposite direction on their bikes. The father was a “little” surprised. Then little Johnny said, “Uuuhhh Dad, oohh no, they’re not wearing their safety helmets.” Continue reading
