About shepherdbryan

My passion is to disciple and see men discipled in every area of their life to see the multiplication principle actually work in a 100 year generational blessing. As go men in the church, so goes the church. As go men in the nation, so goes the nation. Fortunately, because men have often not taken their spiritual role to the limit, God has raised up many godly women to carry the torch where men have laid it aside. May God rapidly raise up men for the next generation of leaders to the Fourth Generation of spiritual leaders! As men lead in a godly way, women will follow in a godly way and that people will be blessed of the Lord.

MSG: Train Your Replacements: How to Disciple Worship – Part 2: 1 Timothy 2:8-15

This message was presented on February 2, 2014 as part of the series on 1 Timothy.

How do you know when something in Scripture is culturally relevant or not? Does what Paul wrote in his day apply to us today? There are several questions from the text we must answer. For example:

  • What does it mean for women to learn in silence?
  • Why did Paul write that women are not to teach men?
  • Is Paul saying women are more easily deceived?
  • What does it mean that women are saved through childbearing? Continue reading

Truth: Doctrine of the Hypostatic Union

Doctrine means “teaching.” This doctrine is an essential Truth to understand the awesomeness of Jesus Christ. Do not pass go, collect 200 dollars or leave your seat until you understand this very important Truth!

1)    Definition- At the Virgin Birth of Christ, deity and humanity were inseparably united without mixture or loss of identity, without loss or transfer of properties or attributes- the union being personal and eternal. Jesus Christ is the unique Person of the universe. He is fully God and true humanity in one Person forever. Continue reading

Suffering: How can God Allow Suffering? Part 2

This is the second part of the article posted yesterday.

The Question People Ask

When Lee Strobel was preparing to write his best-selling book “The Case for Faith: A Journalist Investigates the Toughest Objections to Christianity,” he completed a nationwide survey asking, “If you could ask God anything what would you ask?”  You can imagine the number of questions people thought to ask. However, the top response was, “Why is there suffering and evil in the world?”2 Continue reading

Suffering: How can God Allow Suffering? Part 1

This begins the first part answering the question. Part 2 will be posted tomorrow.

We live. We suffer.

We live. We suffer. If you do not suffer, you have not lived very long. The world is full of suffering that comes from a multitude of sources, in a multitude of ways and with a multitude of results and consequences. It seems to us that some people suffer much more than others, until we are in the midst of it. Then everyone else’s suffering pales in comparison to what we are battling. We’re often willing to do just about anything to get rid of the suffering! There are emotional, social and mental struggles that often overshadow physical suffering, but the physical is easier to identify. Continue reading

Suffering: Pain and Suffering – Introduction

This is the introduction to the project answering the question, “How can a loving God allow suffering?” You are invited to search through all the posts and pick up succeeding articles.

In just a few short months of 2012 and 2013, the following gut-wrenching accounts were filed in courtrooms  and newspapers across the great United States of America – a land that is known for welcoming people from all over the world with the invitation: Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free…1 Continue reading

MSG: Train Your Replacements: How to Disciple Worship 1 Timothy 2:8-10

I’ve worshiped in many countries and there are many differences.  In Manilla, Philippines, people dressed up for “hot” and played contemporary music. In Milan, Italy, people dressed up in suits and dresses as well as casual, and played guitars and keyboards. In Belarussia, I learned that the pastor does not seek a verbal response from the people and they had a simple hymns with keyboard. In Uzbekistan, there was a formality to the church service and people approached the communion table along two aisles, one for grape juice and one for real wine. In Marseilles, France it was just like Grace, but in French. Continue reading

Insights: Authority of God

The messages for the State of the Church focused on the “Authority of God,” especially in His Word. Authority is like a flywheel between the engine and transmission on a stick shift vehicle. It keeps the organism (the drive train) running smoothly and shifts the Christian life into higher stages of spiritual growth, just like the gears on many cars! Yet it is also the ingredient that the flesh consciously and subconsciously resists, “because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God.” (Rom 8:7) Continue reading

Suffering: Who is the God who allows Suffering? Part 3

This is part three answering the question, “Who is the God who allows Suffering?” It is part of a larger project answering the question, “Why does a loving God allow Suffering?”

God is Truth

God is Truth and everything that He does is true. Jesus made this clear, “Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.” (John 7:28 NKJ) Again, Jesus said, “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3 NKJ) Continue reading
