Question: What is prayer?

Dwight L. Moody was a nineteenth century evangelist, well known in America and across the seas in Scotland and England. He posed the question to children in Edinburgh, Scotland, “What is prayer?”  Not thinking he would get an answer, many little hands shot up and one boy clearly spoke with confidence, “Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God for things agreeable to His will, in the name of Christ, with confession of our sins and thankful acknowledgment of His mercies.”  Continue reading

Question: What happens if an ingredient is missing for spiritual growth?

Recently in the article, “What ingredients are necessary for spiritual growth?” there were three ingredients mentioned.  The three ingredients are: 1) God’s Word, 2) God’s Spirit and 3) human faith.  Spiritual growth is a grace action of God that is completely and totally about what the Lord Jesus Christ directs for the believer.
