I was blessed to have a few days to drive over with my bride to North Carolina this last week. We enjoyed a few hours walking through the Biltmore Estate, spending a few quality hours with our nephew at Fort Bragg, a few hours with a seminary friend and pastor in Fayetteville, N.C and then a few hours with Barbara’s cousin in Raleigh, N.C. The time spent with family and friends was a greater blessing than the miles driven and the three different places to sleep!

I was, however, disappointed in what the United States calls joy, but what the Lord calls sin. I was disappointed that now the Fort Bragg chapels are used for the legal marriages of two men or two women. Specifically in December, Maj. Daniel Toven and Johnathan Taylor were married in the Main Post Chapel with more than 100 family members and friends. I am amazed that Christians can be so PC that we emphasize “that’s legal now” and “we have to accept people as they are” and turn away from the holiness of God. I will always seek to love those who choose against the cross of Jesus Christ, but I will not be silent in upholding the Truth of Jesus Christ as clearly explained in Scripture.

It made me think what would the devil do if he wanted to destroy America. The devil is hell-bent on destroying America, because it become the greatest bastion of freedom, liberty and blessing any nation has ever seen. I can imagine him thinking, “If I wanted…to destroy a Christian nation…I would…destroy it from within.” Here are seven things the devil would do:

First, he would promote humanism in schools. The government promoted education from its beginning with the Land Ordinance of 1785 and Northwest Ordinance of 1787, because “a well-educated citizenry was thought to be essential to protect liberty and the general welfare of the people.” When God was welcomed into the government, there was great blessing, but with Darwin’s “Origin of the Species” in 1859 and similar documents, the devil’s agenda slowly began to push God out of the schools and government, until the death knell was accomplished in 1962, when prayer was removed from public schools and the downward godless spiral continued. The enemy is gaining a greater control on children through the celebration of sin, humanistic philosophy and the wickedness of evolutionary lies. Praise God for the few Christian teachers and families who make a stand in the schools, for the schools are a battleground of darkness for the souls of the young. God says, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15 NKJ)

Second, he would create debt in every area of life. Humanism is all about the individual and therefore, it teaches the individual should have what he wants when he wants it. Credit card debt, federally financed mortgages, bankruptcy laws and the federal printing press make the United States the greatest debtor nation the world has ever seen. It is unsustainable to continue the path of printing our way to prosperity. It will only create more poverty. The balloon has not burst, only because of the remnant of values upon which this country was founded. The Lord Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive. “ (Acts 20:35 NKJ) A person can’t give, what he hasn’t earned, saved, or invested in productive resources. America is chasing after get rich quick schemes and kicking the can of accountability upon its grandchildren. Debt makes people slaves of others (Pro. 22:7).

Thirdly, disarm the citizens from holding the government in check. Connecticut and now New York are running contrary to the Second Amendment in the responsibility of the citizenry to be armed and to protect the country from tyrants.  It seems other state and federal legislators are subversively considering steps in that direction. That was the tactic of governments around the world prior to total government control. Governments have terminated more people than any other means of death. In fact, the biggest threat in life is the tyranny of government.  Foolish school officials suspend students, who point a finger at other students. Feminized boys exercise their fingers on an Xbox, but don’t know how to play rough and tumble outside. My Lord said, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one.” (Luke 22:36 NKJ)

Fourthly, create division on every level. Create class warfare through promoting racism and economic hatred between the “haves and have nots.” (By the way, there is only one race – the human race.)  Preach democracy, but seize power as deliberately as possible.  Tell everyone each power grab and control factor is for the common good and safety of the people. Promote tolerance of everything, except what is related to Jesus Christ. Denigrate churches, morality and authority at every level, while gaining greater dependency of the common people who are dependent on the humanistic government. My Lord said, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.” (Luke 11:17 NKJ)

Fifthly, remove God from every area of life. He has been removed from schools in 1962. The Democratic Party barely voted to keep the name “God” on their platform against the jeers of the antagonists. The media ridicules pastors, the church and the Bible at every opportunity. Christian movies are made with a monetary goal in mind and provide enough “religiosity” to cause the unsuspecting to think Hollywood is producing something good. Get people to focus on athletics, sex and the trivial pursuits of life rather than on what matters – multiplying disciples to every generation. My Lord said, “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt. 4:19 NKJ)

Sixthly, corrupt the young. There are statistics that now say 80-90% of young people leave church when they turn 18. Families and parents shrug their shoulders and merely accept what happens rather than falling in repentance and humbling themselves to seek help in raising godly children.  My Lord said (through the apostle Paul), “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. (Eph. 6:4 NKJ)

Seventhly, destroy respect for authority. Question it, ridicule it, denigrate it and rebel against authority in the family, at the work place, in the community (against police officers) and in the nation.  Expose the greed, dishonesty, immorality and secret sins of leaders and declare that it is merely private personal matters, so that young people accept those models for themselves.

This brings us back to the opening story of two men (or it could be two women) marrying each other, which is the culmination of all seven tactics. This lifestyle is openly promoted in public schools, the demands of same-sex couples will put massive debt on government and business retirement and health accounts, disarmed citizens will not be protected when government wants to impose other forms of wickedness on them, it is creating tremendous division within the country, God cannot be present to what He calls unnatural or contrary to nature, it is a corruption of the whole society and it is a complete rejection of God’s authority.

There is hope in one place and that is in a revival of the nation.  We must love for the sake of the gospel, but we cannot compromise. I can tolerate, but I cannot be silent about what God calls wickedness. Praise God for His mercy toward me. May I be merciful to reach all people to the gospel and free all people to a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ!
